We haven't seen you in 30 days: lapsed Wi-Fi visitors

Wi-Fi visitors who haven't been back in 30 days get an invitation to return, by email on the free plan or by WhatsApp. One segment, one daily campaign.

Quick answer

Every Wi-Fi connection updates the contact in BIP, so the Last Updated criterion marks the last visit. Create a segment with Last Updated Equals 30 days ago and a daily Recurring campaign, with Allow Lead Re-entry on and a 30-day cooldown. Each lapsed visitor gets the invitation on the day they hit 30 days.

Customers who stop showing up get an invitation to come back on the day they hit 30 days away, without you building a list or having to remember anyone.

What you need

  • Easy Auth connected to BIP for at least 30 days, with visitors arriving in Leads
  • An EasySpot that asks for the visitor's email (or phone, for WhatsApp)
  • A ready email template (the free plan already sends email)
  • For WhatsApp: a paid plan, a connected number and an approved Marketing template

What you'll get

  • An invitation to come back, sent automatically to every visitor who goes 30 days without connecting to your Wi-Fi.
  • One message per absence: someone who gets it and doesn't come back won't get an email every day.
  • Someone who comes back and disappears again gets a new invitation, at most one every 30 days.
  • A campaign of the right size: each day, only that day's lapsed visitors.
  • Works on the free plan, by email. On a paid plan, by WhatsApp too.

How it works

  1. 1Create the segment of people who hit 30 days without a visit
  2. 2Create a daily Recurring campaign with the we-miss-you email
  3. 3Each lapsed visitor gets the invitation on the day they hit 30 days

On every connection, Easy Auth sends the visitor to BIP and BIP updates the contact. That's why, for a contact who came in through the Wi-Fi, Last Updated is the day of the last visit. Sending a campaign doesn't change that date.

The segment compares Last Updated with a relative date: Equals 30 days ago. Each day, it brings in only the people whose last visit was exactly 30 days earlier. The Recurring campaign runs every day, recalculates the segment and sends the invitation to that day's lapsed visitors.

Why a single day, and not "more than 30 days ago"? A segment with Before gathers everyone who has gone missing, from 31 days to years, and it grows every day. On BIP Lite, each run reserves the segment's count at that moment from the month's balance. With Equals, each run brings in only that day's lapsed visitors: the balance isn't reserved again for people who already got the invitation in past runs.

Step by step

1. Create the segment of people who hit 30 days without a visit

  1. In Segments, click New Segment. Click Settings, fill in the Name Hit 30 days without a visit and click Save.
  2. Click 0 filter(s) selected and then Add Criteria → Last Updated. In Operator, choose Equals.
  3. Click the Value. In Date Mode, choose Relative and set Relative Time to -30 Days. The Preview shows the date 30 days ago.
  4. Click Add Criteria again → Email. In Operator, choose Contains and, in Value, type @. With two criteria, choose All (AND): that way, only people with an email get in.
  5. Click Close. Check the N matches of T count and click Save.

The count changes every day: it's the group of people who hit 30 days without a visit today.

How to measure

  • Before you activate: the Hit 30 days without a visit segment shows how many invitations go out today. The All lapsed visitors segment shows the size of the whole group.
  • In BIP: open Campaign Stats. Processed (N runs) adds up every day the campaign ran. Also track Delivered, Open Rate, Click Rate, Errors and Top clicked links.
  • Who came back: Recipient Interactions lists who got the invitation and when. In Leads, the Updated Date column shows each person's last visit: anyone whose date is later than the email's came back to the Wi-Fi.
  • In Easy Auth: in Webhooks, click View Logs. Each return shows up as a new call from the integration webhook to https://api.bip.marketing/api/leads, with Status, Topic, URL and Hour. In View Request, the Request Body shows who connected.
  • Returning visitors: in Statistics, the General tab shows new and returning visitors for the period, and the Users tab filters Returning Users.
  • At the register: count how many people showed the email to get their coffee.

Variations

  • By WhatsApp: in the campaign list, click Duplicate, switch the copy's Channel to WhatsApp with the aurora_miss_you_30_days template and use a segment with Phone → Starts with → + instead of the email criterion.
  • Once a week: under Frequency, choose Custom and check Monday. In the segment, swap Equals for Between, with From Relative -36 Days (Start of Day) and To Relative -30 Days (End of Day). Every Monday, the segment brings in the lapsed visitors from the previous 7 days.
  • A different time frame: for customers who come every week, use -15 in the segment and 15 in Cooldown Period (Days). For less frequent purchases, -60 and 60.
  • First send to people already gone: the daily campaign only reaches people who hit 30 days from now on. For those already past that mark, make a One-time send with the Lapsed 30 to 60 days segment.
  • Wi-Fi visitors only: if you also import spreadsheets, add First / Last Source → First Source (Type) → Equals → API to the segment.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Last Updated show the last visit?

Because on every connection, Easy Auth sends the visitor to BIP and BIP updates the contact. Sending campaigns doesn't change that date. Editing the contact in the dashboard, importing a spreadsheet or updating it through the API does: in an account that only receives Easy Auth visitors, Last Updated is the last connection.

Can someone who got the invitation and came back get it again?

Yes, if they disappear again. When they come back, Last Updated changes and they leave the segment. If they go another 30 days without showing up, they enter it again, and re-entry lets the invitation go out, because more than 30 days have passed since the previous send.

I imported my old Easy Auth base. Does anything change?

On import, Last Updated for every imported contact becomes the import date. Thirty days later, everyone who hasn't come back enters that day's segment at once. Before that date, check the segment count and the month's balance in Settings → Billing: if the balance doesn't cover everyone, the campaign doesn't go out that day.

Does it work on the free plan?

Yes, by email. The account created by Easy Auth starts on BIP Lite with 1,000 free sends per month. Each run reserves the day's segment count from the balance: only the people who hit 30 days without a visit. WhatsApp comes with the paid plan. See Plans and limits.
