# Account and team: namespaces, invitations and roles

> Each namespace is a separate account in BIP, with its own contacts, campaigns, plan and team. Create as many as you need from the switcher at the top of the menu, invite people in Settings → Users with the Admin or User role, and sign in with a password or a 6-digit code sent by email.

<UseCaseMeta effort="nocode" plan="free" />

An agency with ten clients, a chain with three brands, a store with a marketing team: in BIP, each operation gets its own space and each person signs in with their own login. You switch accounts in one click and decide who manages each one.

<Checklist items="A BIP account (the free plan works)|The Admin role in the namespace, to invite people and change roles|The email address of each person you'll invite|A computer: the dashboard is built for large screens" />

## What you'll get

- One namespace per brand or client, with separate contacts, campaigns, plan and billing.
- Account switching from the side menu, without signing out and back in.
- A team with their own logins, invited by email, each with the right role.
- Access with a password or with a code sent by email, for when the password isn't at hand.

## How it works

<Steps items="Create a namespace for each brand or client|Invite your team by email and choose each person's role|Everyone signs in with their own login and switches accounts from the switcher" />

**Namespace** is what BIP calls each account. Everything lives inside it: contacts, segments, campaigns, email templates, webhooks, WhatsApp, API keys, settings, plan and billing. Nothing carries over from one namespace to another.

A person has a single login and can belong to as many namespaces as they need, with a role in each one. When they sign in to the dashboard:

- someone with no namespace yet goes straight to the creation screen;
- someone with one namespace goes straight into it;
- someone with several picks one in **Choose a namespace to continue**.

## Step by step

### 1. Create a namespace

1. At the top of the side menu, open the namespace switcher and click **+ Create New Namespace**. On your first sign-in, BIP opens this screen for you.
2. In **Account Name**, type the name of the brand or client (for example, _Padaria Aurora_).
3. In **Language**, choose **English**. The namespace's default groups and topics are created in this language, and your contacts see the topics in their communication preferences. **English** is also the screen's default.
4. In **Timezone**, check the timezone. BIP suggests your computer's, such as `America/Sao_Paulo (-03:00)`.
5. Click **Create Namespace**.

Every new namespace starts on BIP Lite, with 1,000 free sends per month, and you join it as **Admin**.

### 2. Switch namespaces

1. Click the switcher at the top of the side menu. It shows the namespace you're in.
2. Pick another one from the list. The dashboard reloads in the chosen account, and the address changes to `dash.bip.marketing/<namespace>`.

<Callout type="tip">
Agencies: create one namespace per client and name each one after the client, such as _Padaria Aurora_ and _Loja Horizonte_. That way, each brand's contacts, campaigns and billing stay separate, and the switcher list becomes your client dashboard.
</Callout>

### 3. Check your namespace details

In **Settings**, on the **General** tab:

- **Account Information** → **Namespace**: the account's ID. It appears in the dashboard address and in the site script. Click it to copy.
- **Account Name**: the name shown in the switcher.
- **Email From (Name)** and **Email From (Address)**: the default sender of your emails. To send from your own domain, see [Custom sending domain](/en-us/sending-domain).
- **Language**: the dashboard language in this browser (**English**, **Portuguese** or **Spanish**). The change applies right away and the page reloads.
- **Timezone**: the namespace's default timezone, used as the reference for date criteria in segments.

After changing the name, the sender or the timezone, click **Save**, at the top of the page.

<Shot src="/img/conta-e-equipe/3-en-us.png" alt="General tab in Settings with Account Information, sender, language and timezone" url="dash.bip.marketing/…/settings" />

### 4. Invite your team

1. In **Settings** → **Users**, click **Invite User to Join**.
2. In the **Invite User** window, fill in the person's **Email** and **Name**.
3. Under **Role**, choose **Admin** or **User**. The default is **User**.
4. Customize the **Email Subject** and the **Email Body**. Keep `{INVITE_LINK}` in the body: that's where BIP puts the invitation link. There's a ready-made template in [Ready to copy](#ready-to-copy).
5. Click **Send Invitation**.

The invitation comes from a BIP address, and the link is valid for 7 days. If the person is already part of the namespace, BIP doesn't send another invitation.

<Shot src="/img/conta-e-equipe/4-en-us.png" alt="Invite User window with the email, name, role, subject and body of the invitation" url="dash.bip.marketing/…/settings?tab=users" />

### 5. Accept the invitation

This step is for the person who received the invitation.

1. Open the email and click the link. BIP shows **Complete Your Invitation**.
2. Someone without a BIP account creates a **Password**, with at least 8 characters. Someone who already has one just confirms.
3. Click **Accept Invitation**. The person goes straight into the namespace, with the role set in the invitation.

If **Invalid or expired invitation link** appears, ask an Admin for a new invitation.

<Shot src="/img/conta-e-equipe/5-en-us.png" alt="Complete Your Invitation screen with the password field and the Accept Invitation button" url="dash.bip.marketing/accept-invite?token=…" />

### 6. Adjust roles and access

In **Settings** → **Users**, each person appears with their name, email and role. Admins have a shield on their avatar.

- **Change someone's role**: in the selector next to the person, choose **Admin** or **User**.
- **Remove someone from the namespace**: click the trash can and confirm in **Are you sure?**. The person loses access to this namespace; their login and their other namespaces stay as they are.
- **Edit your own profile**: click the gear next to your name. In **Edit User**, change your **Name** or set a **New Password** (at least 8 characters) and repeat it in **Confirm New Password**. Click **Save**.

You can't remove yourself from the list. To leave a namespace, ask another Admin.

### 7. Sign in with a password or a code

1. At [dash.bip.marketing/signin](https://dash.bip.marketing/signin), enter your **Email** and **Password** and click **Signin**.
2. Password not at hand? Type your email and click **Sign in with OTP instead**. BIP sends a 6-digit code to that address.
3. In **Enter verification code**, fill in the 6 digits and click **Verify & Sign In**.

The code is valid for 10 minutes. After three wrong attempts, request a new one with **Resend code**, which becomes available 60 seconds after each send. Code sign-in works for email addresses that already have a BIP account. To go back to the regular sign-in, click **Sign in with password**.

<Shot src="/img/conta-e-equipe/7-en-us.png" alt="Sign-in screen with the Email and Password fields and the Sign in with OTP instead link" url="dash.bip.marketing/signin" />

<Callout type="warning">
The dashboard is built for computers. On small screens, like a phone's, it shows the notice **Sorry, we are not ready for mobile yet**. The communication preferences your contacts open from your emails, on the other hand, work on phones.
</Callout>

## Reference

### Roles

Roles apply to team management, **API Keys** and **Email Domains**: only an Admin can invite, change roles, remove people, create keys and manage the domain. Everywhere else in the dashboard, Admin and User have the same access.

## Ready to copy

### Team invitation

Replace _Padaria Aurora_ with your namespace's name. The body is a single paragraph, with the link at the end.

<Copy label="Email Subject">
Join the Padaria Aurora team on BIP
</Copy>

<Copy label="Email Body">
Hi! You've been invited to join the Padaria Aurora team on BIP, where we manage our contacts and campaigns. To get in, open the link below and finish setting up your access. The link is valid for 7 days: {INVITE_LINK}
</Copy>

### Namespace names for agencies

A naming pattern keeps the switcher easy to read as the list grows:

<Copy label="Account Name examples">
Padaria Aurora
Loja Horizonte
Clínica Vida Leve
Agência Pulso (internal)

## Frequently asked questions

### Are sends and billing shared between namespaces?

No. Each namespace has its own plan, its own send capacity and its own billing. Contacts, campaigns and settings are separate too.

### How many people can I invite?

Your team size doesn't depend on your plan. Invite whoever you need, in any namespace where you're an Admin.

### The invitation expired. Now what?

The invitation link is valid for 7 days. Ask an Admin to send it again from **Settings** → **Users** → **Invite User to Join**.

### A teammate forgot their password. How do they sign in?

On the sign-in screen, they type their email and click **Sign in with OTP instead**. Once they're in, they set a new password from the gear in **Settings** → **Users**.
